COVID -19 Policy for Erie Islands Sailing School

Our goal at Erie Islands Sailing School is for you, your sailing peers, and instructions to learn new skills in a safe and fun environment.  Erie Islands Sailing School is no longer requiring students to be fully vaccinated for classes; however, it is highly suggested.  Masks may be required at certain indoor facilities, and we ask that you follow any mask requirements per the facility your class may use (such as marinas or public classrooms).   

Due to the proximity of students and instructors on boats as well as hands on learning, should a student feel ill or exhibit any of the common symptoms with CoronaVirus (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html) 10 days or less prior to your scheduled class we ask that you contact us immediately to assess the situation and/or reschedule your class time. Please be aware that you will be sharing the class with other students, and it is not possible to know everyone’s health risks. Erie Islands Sailing School will communicate with students if an instructor becomes ill and a class requires rescheduling.

Erie Islands Sailing School Change & Refund Policy

Gift Cards/Gift Certificates Policy

Gift certificates are available for purchase in any denomination. They have no cash value and are non-returnable/refundable. Check, ACH, and all major credit cards accepted.  Gift certificates can be applied toward any class within two sailing seasons of purchase. Erie Islands Sailing School reserves the right to revise this policy at any time. Updated: 02/04/2023 

ASA Sailing Class Refund Policy

Sailing school registrants who cancel 30 days prior to the class date can request a full refund, less a 10% materials fee. Sailing school registrants who cancel 15 days prior to the class date can request a 50% refund.  Sailing school registrants who cancel 14 days prior to the class date will not be refunded but can convert their payments to a gift card to be applied to a future available class date within two sailing seasons of purchase. Class materials are non-returnable. Check, ACH, and major credit cards accepted.  

In the event Erie Islands Sailing School cancels a sailing class for any reason, the registrant may choose to receive a full refund of the amount paid, less a 10% materials fee or receive a gift card for use to reschedule the class within two sailing seasons of purchase. Black Pearl Charters Refund Policy

Reservations for charters and overnight stays will be fully refunded if cancelled 30 days before your scheduled charter/stay.  Clients may cancel online, via email or phone to Erie Islands Sailing School.  For cancellations of 29 days of less, 50% of your charter will be refunded. Charters paying with a gift certificate can reschedule the charter.
